Paul Davies

Paul Davies

Paul became interested in family law after helping a family member with her divorce settlement. He had previously spent twenty years performing financial investigations and corporate rescues, including saving more than 5,000 jobs. Paul has overseen companies in Australia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, USA, Switzerland, Malaysia, Taiwan and Bahrain and held executive and non-executive directorships in public and non-listed companies. Paul initially worked for KPMG and its predecessor firms for ten years.

Paul counts as his major achievements:

  • Stopping the suicides and riots in a labour camp of 1,000 foreign workers owed up to six months wages following a business collapse
  • As Managing Director leading the $250 million financial rescue of a publicly listed watch company with 5,000 staff
  • As Chief Financial Officer leading the $80 million financial rescue of a publicly listed telecommunications company with 4,000 staff
  • Establishing and managing KPMG’s turnaround practice in Hong Kong as part of the newly formed Corporate Financial Services department
  • Developing a financial investigation package which was nominated by KPMG – HK to the KPMG world-wide practice for Best Practice
  • Joint head of the loan recovery department of a bank in liquidation (on secondment from KPMG) owed approximately $1 billion. The bank’s depositors were able to recover almost 100% of their money in the liquidation
  • Supervising the financial investigation of Linter Group under Lindsay Maxsted of KPMG and uncovering debts of more than $1.5 billion. Linter remains one of Australia’s great corporate scandals.

Paul completed an Economics degree with a major in Accounting from Australian National University in 1984 and qualified for membership as a Chartered Accountant in 1989.

Lee Ching Yan Adam

Adam is a senior finance executive with more than 20 years’ experience including financial investigations, corporate finance, business turnaround and restructuring, analysis and general management. He started his career as a financial journalist in Singapore before moving to Hong Kong and has since worked throughout the Asia Pacific region including as Managing Director of an Australian publicly listed company. Adam has worked together with Paul Davies on a number of corporate rescues. Adam has a business degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his law degree from the University of London in 2013.

Adam’s senior finance roles include:

  • Managing Director of a gold mining company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange
  • Chairman of a finance company
  • General Manager of a company with the agency of one of the world’s leading producers of heavy vehicles
  • Corporate advisor to private and publicly listed companies including a leading institutional investment fund.

Most recently Adam is responsible for the successful financial investigation and criminal conviction of a former Chairman of a publicly listed company for misappropriation of company assets in Taiwan. Adam is skilled in management, financial analysis, financial projections, transaction advisory, transaction co-ordination, corporate work-outs and business negotiations. He speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.

Matt Glover

Matt is Joint Head of our Support Group on a volunteer basis and is also the organiser of the Melbourne Divorce Support Group. Collectively the Groups have 450+ members and held 45+ meetups since starting in 2013 largely due to Matt’s efforts. He is a qualified relationship coach with own business “Love Reconnection”. Matt’s interest and passion is to help others reignite their relationships; or if it is too late, learn and heal from (rather than live in) past relationships and enhance the prospect of future healthy loving relationships. Matt also has a strong financial background and works on client matters from time to time.

Matt is known for being easy going, a great listener, insightful and very supportive. He spent two years traveling the world, including Europe, North America, South America and South East Asia. Apart from helping people Matt also loves sport and music.
