Paul Davies

Paul Davies

Paul has more than 25 years’ experience in dispute resolution primarily involving complex finances. He has helped divorcing couples settle out of court; rescued troubled corporates from liquidation and saved individuals from bankruptcy. He has held executive and non-executive directorships in publicly listed companies and initially worked for KPMG and its predecessor firms for ten years. Paul works with couples and their lawyers to resolve differences out of court. He is a qualified accountant, trained in mediation and collaborative law, and a member of the International Association of Facilitators.

  • Establishing KPMG’s turnaround practice in Hong Kong in 1994
  • Founding Managing Partners Limited in 1997 which helped rescue 7 public companies from collapse during the Asian crisis
  • Establishing Divorce Support and Social Group in 2012 now with 700+ members
  • Founding Better not Bitter Pty Ltd in 2015
  • Overseeing companies in Australia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, USA, Switzerland, Malaysia, Taiwan and Bahrain throughout career
Paul completed an Economics degree with a major in Accounting from Australian National University in 1984 and qualified for membership as a Chartered Accountant in 1989.
   

Varsha Viprita Lal

Varsha Viprita Lal

Varsha is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner under the Family Law Act & Regulations and an accredited mediator under the National Accreditation Standards. She was drawn to practice in family law mediation to help couples settle out of court and avoid the battle and acrimony of the court process. Varsha tailors her mediations to meet the needs of her clients which may include face to face, video or shuttle mediations. She is best recognised by her clients for her calming and supportive nature and professionalism. Varsha has an empathetic personality and a unique ability to encourage and empower positive communication.

A multi-talented professional from a diverse background Varsha also has a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Biomedical Engineering and Postgraduate diploma in Management. Varsha speaks Hindi fluently and is happy to assist clients who wish to utilize this as part of our services.
   

Michelle Zelig

Michelle Zelig

Michelle is an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department. Michelle helps couples resolve their issues over parenting and property without the need of costly litigation. She is committed to providing a child-centred, confidential and non-judgemental approach to resolving disputes. Michelle’s passion is wellness and helping others navigate life’s difficult transitions. Michelle has chosen to be a family dispute resolution practitioner because of her ability to make a difference when times get tough.

On a personal level Michelle has run 8 marathons, numerous triathlons and come first in her age group in the Big Apple Triathlon in New York City. On a corporate level Michelle is a former president of the International Coach Federation Victorian Chapter. She was a management consultant on Wall Street and for consulting firms in Australia including KPMG. Michelle is a multi-talented high achiever who wants to help.
   

 

Lee Ching Yan Adam

Lee Ching Yan Adam

Adam is a senior finance executive with more than 20 years’ experience including financial investigations, corporate finance, business turnaround and restructuring, analysis and general management. He started his career as a financial journalist in Singapore before moving to Hong Kong and has since worked throughout the Asia Pacific region including as Managing Director of an Australian publicly listed company. Adam has worked together with Paul Davies on a number of corporate rescues. Adam has a business degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his law degree from the University of London in 2013.

Adam’s senior finance roles include:
  • Managing Director of a gold mining company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange
  • Chairman of a finance company
  • General Manager of a company with the agency of one of the world’s leading producers of heavy vehicles
  • Corporate advisor to private and publicly listed companies including a leading institutional investment fund.
Most recently Adam is responsible for the successful financial investigation and criminal conviction of a former Chairman of a publicly listed company for misappropriation of company assets in Taiwan. Adam is skilled in management, financial analysis, financial projections, transaction advisory, transaction co-ordination, corporate work-outs and business negotiations. He speaks fluent English, Chinese Mandarin and Cantonese.

Matt Glover

Matt assists organise our Support Group on a volunteer basis and is also the organiser of the Melbourne Divorce Support Group. He is a qualified relationship coach with own business “Happy & Healthy Relationships” which has more than 2,000 members on Meetup. Matt’s interest and passion is to help others reignite their relationships; or if it is too late, learn and heal from (rather than live in) past relationships and enhance the prospect of future healthy loving relationships. Matt also has a strong financial background and works on client matters from time to time.
